Who should go for PGT ?

PGT is especially recommended for couples who are at a higher risk of passing on genetic or chromosomal conditions to their children. This includes individuals with a family history of genetic disorders, recurrent miscarriages, or previous IVF failures where embryo quality or implantation issues were suspected.

Women of advanced maternal age (35 years and above) are also ideal candidates, as the risk of chromosomal abnormalities increases with age.

Couples who have had previous pregnancies with genetic abnormalities, or who are carriers of specific genetic mutations, benefit greatly from PGT since it helps ensure only healthy embryos are transferred.

Additionally, couples undergoing IVF with donor eggs or sperm, or those planning single embryo transfers, may also opt for PGT to enhance implantation success and reduce the chances of miscarriage.

At Bhavya IVF, PGT is not just a genetic test — it’s a step toward reassurance and clarity. With expert genetic counseling and world-class embryology support, we guide couples through the process with compassion and transparency, ensuring a safe, ethical, and hopeful path to a healthy baby.

Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing (PGT)

Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing (PGT) is a highly advanced genetic screening technique used during the IVF process to examine embryos for chromosomal or genetic abnormalities before they are transferred into the uterus. By analyzing the genetic makeup of embryos, PGT helps identify the healthiest ones — increasing the chances of a successful pregnancy and reducing the risk of miscarriage or inherited disorders.

The procedure involves safely removing a few cells from the developing embryo (usually on day 5 or 6) for genetic analysis, without affecting the embryo’s growth or viability.

At Bhavya IVF, PGT is performed using cutting-edge laboratory technology and expert embryology practices to ensure accuracy, safety, and precision. This test allows our fertility specialists to select embryos that are chromosomally normal and free from specific genetic diseases, thereby improving the success rates of IVF and ensuring a healthier pregnancy outcome. PGT can detect issues such as aneuploidy (abnormal chromosome number), single-gene disorders, and structural rearrangements that may otherwise lead to failed implantation or congenital abnormalities. By combining the power of genetics with modern reproductive science, Bhavya IVF helps couples take an informed and confident step toward parenthood.
